(1965- ) US author of romance fiction, who has also written as by Kinley MacGregor and Sherrilyn McQueen; much of her work can be categorized as paranormal romance [for this and Supernatural Fiction see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below], including the extensive Dark-Hunter sequence beginning with Fantasy Lover (2002), about a Spartan hero, son of Aphrodite, who is imprisoned in a bottle till he is allowed out in 2003 to service a Sex therapist. Some further volumes in the series suggest hints of explanations of the SF Megatext, but normally fall short of sustaining arguments. A connected sequence, the Chronicles of Nick series beginning with Infinity (2010), Equipoisally introduces characters and plot elements from the future of the planet.

Kenyon's second major sequence, The League: Nemesis Rising, a romantic Space Opera series beginning with Born of the Night (1996), is of greater sf interest; multiple heated contacts and conflicts among the large cast of heroes, operatives and those with special powers titivate various Planetary Romance venues, these connections between various worlds mostly enabled through a competent (if cursory) use of Space Opera engines. The League itself, a more or less Secret-Master praetorian guard whose function is to keep the circumambient Galactic Empire intact, is either evident throughout, or lurks in the wings. [JC]
