(1926- ) US author, in her latter career mostly of romance novels for younger readers; of some sf interest are two series. The Astro-Orb sequence of Space Opera and other adventures for younger readers begins with Spaceship EM-88 (1979 chap), and depicts the exploits of Emergency Ship 88 over much of the solar system, including encounters with Aliens. The Future sequence is a nonfiction series of illustrated Futures Studies texts for younger readers, including some interesting anticipations, like the wheel-shaped orbital Space Habitat described in Future Space (1980 chap). Publication of all volumes seems to have been simultaneous; they are therefore listed below in alphabetical order. [JC]
