Cantrell, Christian

Entry updated 12 September 2022. Tagged: Author.

(1973-    ) US software entrepreneur and author whose Near Future Children of Occam sequence beginning with Containment (2010) traverses various planets of our Solar System including Venus, which is under process of being occupied by Homo sapiens as Earth has been spoliated by Ecological degradation and Climate Change. In the sequel, Equinox (2015), set farther into the future, descendants of scientists trapped on a Space Station maintain a fragile compact with the home planet: at stake, again, is the future of the human race. In Kingmaker (2013), which is a singleton, a Cyborged but fundamentally Posthuman Superman creates a cadre of operatives in California with the goal of destabilizing the planetary corporations that have taken over the beleaguered world. Scorpion (2021) features a different augmented being, in this case a female CIA agent who alone has the ability to decipher a coded Epoch Index embedded in the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland. It may be assumed that the future of the human race will be impacted by what is revealed. [JC]
