(1971-    ) UK teacher and author whose first works were Gamebooks in the Fighting Fantasy sequence for younger readers, but whose later works are of sf or fantasy interest, including Ties for both Warhammer, beginning with Warhammer: The Dead and the Damned (2002), and Warhammer 40,000, beginning with Warhammer 40,000: Crusade for Armageddon (2003). In his own right, the Pax Britannia sequence, beginning with Pax Britannia: Unnatural History (2007), presents a sprightly Steampunk take on an Alternate History version of Victorian Britain. Without plunging into very innovative territory, it engagingly mixes Inventions, Space Flight, colonies on the Moon, ominous Robots, Mad Scientists and other elements into a series of tales that darken as the sequence matures.
