Working name of French author Henri René Guieu (1926-2000), who also wrote espionage novels as by Jimmy Quint, policiers as by Claude Rostaing, and juveniles as by Claude Vauzière; he also wrote as by Dominique Verseau. Much of his work, both fiction and nonfiction, was devoted to arguing for the existence of UFOs; his ufology texts, as well as his very numerous sf adventures (some of them written as Ties by other authors under his name), are listed very selectively below. The Jean Kariven sequence begins with Le Pionnier de l'atome ["The Pioneer of the Atom"] (1952), in which Earth is discovered to be a microcosm (see Great and Small; Pocket Universe) lodged within the knee of a vast highly sexed woman; the final six titles have been translated as The Polarian-Denebian War: 1: Operation Aphrodite (omni 2016) and The Polarian-Denebian War: 2: Space Commandos (omni 2016), all trans Michael Shreve [for individual French titles see Checklist below]. The Jerry Barclay sequence begins with Au-delà de l'infini ["Beyond Infinity"] (1952), a Space Opera with Fantastic Voyage elements, including the discovery of Utopian worlds, and Cosmological revelations about the shape of the universe as a whole. Aliens frequent Guieu's oeuvre as a whole, in keeping with his persistent adherence to versions of the notion that Homo sapiens are property of some advanced civilization, frequently from Mars (see Charles Fort); Paranoid Invasion plots are therefore common.

The Yolande sequence [selected titles only listed below] as by Verseau were Sex "romps" in Space Opera settings. [JC]
