A pair of twenty-third-century astronauts operating out of the Space Station Jupiter Too, Tyberius "Ty" Walker (Felix Bell) and Morris Clay (Darryl M Bell) become involved in various misadventures, often involving efforts to become wealthy. Their Spaceship is the Space Hoopty a cross between a winged automobile and a large truck, piloted by the intelligent female Computer Loquatia (Bennett). Comically inept, Walker and Clay engage in adventures which satirize various previous sf Television series and films including Star Trek (1966-1969), Lost in Space (1965-1968), Fantastic Voyage (1966) and Star Wars (1977). The series was heavily panned and cancelled after only one season, though some notable guest stars appeared: these included John Astin, James Doohan, George Takei and Burt Ward. The programme is little remembered today despite the choice of apt targets for Satire. TV Guide magazine rated it as one of the 50 worst television series ever aired. [GSt]
