(1919-2013) Indian-born broadcaster, specializing in political documentaries for television; publisher, co-founder of the British firm McGibbon and Kee; and author; in the UK from childhood. His third novel, A Sign of the Times (1955) is an sf Satire set in the Near Future, after a short, nuclear World War Three, when a regimented Dystopia – primarily governed by IGRAMP, the Inter-Governmental Regroupment Agency for Maladjusted Persons – has taken over along lines often found in post-World War Two UK fiction.
