(? - ) US animal breeder, radio host and author of the Christian Roberts sequence of Florida-based Technothrillers, comprising Secretariat Reborn (2013) and Shark Fin Soup (2014); in the first tale, Roberts attempts to race the illegal Clone of famed thoroughbred horse Secretariat expose him (and the fragile plot) to an international crime syndicate; in the second, calling himself Captain Nemo (see Jules Verne), he begins an ecoterrorist campaign against the (actual) mass slaughter of sharks whose fins are used to make Chinese soup. Of more direct sf interest is Flight of the Golden Harpy (2014), a Planetary Romance whose young heroine, on returning to the planet Dora after her Earth education, becomes involved with the native "harpies" who are under threat from Homo sapiens (see Colonization of Other Worlds). Her relationship with a young male harpy becomes intense. An earlier version was self-published as The Golden Harpy (2004) by S C Klaus. [JC]
