Working name of Patrick J LoBrutto (1948- ), US editor and publisher initially at Ace Books, where he worked on the mid-1970s second series of Ace Specials and with Forrest J Ackerman co-edited scores of issues of the translated Perry Rhodan paperback magazine from 1974 to 1978. He has also worked at Doubleday (1977-1989) – there winning a Special Professional World Fantasy Award in 1986 – and Random House, and is currently both a freelance editorial consultant and an acquiring editor for Tor Books and the associated Forge imprint.
LoBrutto co-edited one volume of the Full Spectrum Original Anthology series, Full Spectrum #2 (New York: Doubleday Foundation, 1989) with Lou Aronica, Shawna McCarthy and Amy Stout. Another editorial credit from the same year is Razored Saddles (anth 1989) with Joe R Lansdale, a Western/Horror crossover anthology. He edited one issue of Tor.com for 20 May 2014, for which year the online publication won a Locus Award as best magazine. [DRL]
