Phantasma
Entry updated 4 April 2017. Tagged: Publication.
Digest-size saddle-stapled Cinema Semiprozine. Published by Atlas Publishing. Editor: Jack Brent. Four issues, 1988 to 1990.
A worthy attempt at a more scholarly film publication on Horror and sf than generally seen in the US, Phantasma perhaps inevitably attracted too small an audience to survive. Features included a study of the Frankenstein Monster in film, a tribute to Boris Karloff tribute, and a survey of Hammer Films. The final issue featured an in-depth look at the career of Ray Harryhausen, together with his mentor Willis H O'Brien. [GSt/DRL]
