The greatest – DC Comics Superheroes, Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman – team up as the Super Friends operating out of the Hall of Justice. Each episode begin with an emergency of some sort reported via the team's Trouble-Alert Computer, generally involving various super-Villains, although Alien Invasions and natural Disasters also crop up. US Army officer Colonel Wilcox occasionally appears as the team's liaison to the US government. Also regularly featured were teenage superheroes-in-training Weny (Alberoni) and Marvin (Welker); an especially annoying original character was Wonder Dog, an intelligent canine who assisted the heroes in their adventures. More juvenile in tone than later animated series featuring some of the characters, Super Friends lasted only one season. [GSt]
