Maynard, William Patrick

(1971-    ) US author who has written extensively about Sax Rohmer and his notorious Yellow Peril character Fu Manchu. He began to publish work of genre interest with the authorized Sequel by Another Hand The Terror of Fu Manchu (2009), following this novel with The Destiny of Fu Manchu (2012). Relatively little use is made of sf tropes, beyond (characteristically for this Villain) exotic means of delivering Poison. A further Fu Manchu sequel is expected. [DRL]

Rossi, Veronica

(1973-    ) Brazilian-born author, in US from early adulthood, whose Under the Never Sky (2012) is a Young Adult Dystopia; the young protagonist, exiled from the city Keep where she was born, must survive in the Ruined Earth environment outside. Fortunately she meets a young man, and they help each other. [JC]

Wilson, H W

(1866-1940) UK journalist and author, a founder of the Navy League, and with one of its members, Arnold Henry White, author of a Future War tale, When War Breaks Out [for subtitle see Checklist below] (1898 chap), which dramatizes the dangers of an unprepared navy [for further details see entry on his collaborator]. Vornholt, John

(1951-    ) US author who has also written as by Carolyn Goode, known chiefly for Ties: these include a long string of Star Trek: The Next Generation novels beginning with Masks (1989) and ending with A Time to Die (2004), plus other novels in the overall Star Trek universe; and the Babylon 5 novel Babylon 5, Book #1: Voices (1995).
