Harper, Kenneth

Probable pseudonym (?   -    ), though his real name has not been securely identified, of the UK author of the MASK sequence of Ties to a series of Toys, beginning with MASK: The Deathstone (1986) and ending with MASK: The Plunder of Glow-Worm Grotto (1987); MASK is an acronym for Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand. Kirmess, C H

Pseudonym of Australian newspaperman and author Frank Fox (1874-1960), in the UK from about 1909; in his Future War tale, The Australian Crisis (October 1908-August 1909 Lone Hand as "The Commonwealth Crisis"; 1909), an effeminate Near Future Australia is subject to Invasion by Asians (see Yellow Peril). Fox was knighted in 1926. [JC]

(1953-    ) US author of a Near Future sf novel, No Safe Place (1986), whose protagonist alone survives after the death or incurable insanity of all her colleagues on a Spaceship during an encounter with Alien artefacts; on her return to Earth, she is scapegoated by the corporation that owns the ship, and sent back to unravel, for profit, the mystery of the artefacts. ...
