Working name of US author William Patrick Murray (1953-2026), who showed an interest throughout his career in Superheroes of the Pulp tradition (on which he was a known authority) such as Doc Savage, about which figure he wrote the nonfiction Secrets of Doc Savage (1981 chap). (1963- ) US author of a Graphic Novel, The Complete Moonshadow (graph 1998) with Jon J Muth, whose eponymous protagonist, born of a hippy and a seemingly nonsubstantial Alien, embarks upon a Fantastic Voyage through the universe, looking for something like truth. [JC]
Sowden, Lewis
(1903-1974) UK-born South African newspaperman and author, in Israel from 1966, whose The Man Who Was Emperor: A Romance (1946) is set in an imaginary country of marginal sf interest.
