Abraham, Daniel
(1969- ) US author who began publishing work of genre interest with "Mixing Rebecca" for The Silver Web, issue 13 1996, and whose first solo novel A Shadow in Summer (2006) – opening The Long Price Quartet – is fantasy, like most of his work. (1890-1955) US author of juvenile fiction, mostly set in Northern climes; her one title of Children's SF interest, Princess of Yucatan (1939), is a Lost Race tale set (unusually for her) in Mexico. [JC]
Gong
Rock band, identified as French although they were founded by Australian Daevid Allen (1938-2015) and have included English and American as well as French members. Allen had been working in London in the late 1960s but, temporarily denied a visa, relocated to Paris and formed Gong with his partner, Gilli Smith (1933- ). Clute, John
(1940- ) Canadian critic, editor and author, in the UK from 1969; married to Judith Clute from 1964, partner of Elizabeth Hand since 1996.
