(1854-1905) French journalist and author, mostly of humorous pieces; his newspaper column, La Vie Drôle ["The Funny Life"] contained many skits and spoofs and other pieces, often fantastical. Dean, Frederic Alva

(circa 1860-1936) US author of a Lost Race novel, The Heroines of Petoséga (1889), which traces the history of the survivors of an ancient Disaster which destroys pre-Attic Greece in about 1000 BCE, and who found the exquisite city of Petoséga on what is now known as Mackinac Island in present-day Michigan. Working name of US editor Joseph Wrzos (1929-    ). He acted as Managing Editor of Amazing Stories and Fantastic 1965-1967 while continuing to teach high-school English full-time in New Jersey.
