(? - ) US author of a Hollow Earth novel, Forty Years With the Damned; or, Life Inside the Earth (1895), a kind of multi-cultural, multi-ethnic Utopia, though there are aerial conflicts. The protagonists, who have escaped slavery in antebellum America, later fly in a Spaceship to Mars, where they undergo further adventures. [JC]
