(? - ) Canadian journalist, poet and author, active from the 1990s, in whose first novel, Severance (2014), the inhabitants of a Generation Starship, two or more centuries into their voyage towards a colonizable planet, lose control of their behaviour; the Argos becomes a Ship of Fools, a murder is committed, the enterprise of this sample of Homo sapiens is put in doubt. Freeze/Thaw (2016) is set in a Near Future world where a radical attempt to solve the problem of rising global temperatures by placing a shade between Earth and the Sun (see Climate Change; Scientific Errors) causes a catastrophic freezing of the planet.
