(1935-1991) Polish-born author, editor, poet and fan, in the UK from a very early age, who began to publish work of genre interest with "The Millionaires" for Macrocosm in December 1971 but thereafter wrote only poems, reviews and criticism. She published the well-produced and highly regarded 1970s Fanzine Zimri (eight issues, 1971-1976), whose contributors included Brian W Aldiss (poems), John Brunner (interviewed), George Hay (reviews), Robert P Holdstock with the early story "The Touch of a Vanished Hand" (January 1975 Zimri #7), and Harry Turner (artwork). Conesa both wrote and encouraged sf Poetry, and in connection with a scheduled reading of poems at the 1974 Eastercon published the verse anthology The Purple Hours (anth 1974 chap) in Fanzine format, with contributions by Brian W Aldiss, John Brunner, Robert Calvert, Conesa herself, Judith Ann Lawrence, Michael Moorcock with "These are the First Signs of Sonic Attack" (which would become a Hawkwind song), Steve Sneyd and others.
