Franck, Tyler Corey

(1969-    ) US designer of the Expanse Role Playing Game and author who began publishing work of genre interest with "Audience" in Orson Scott Card's Intergalactic Medicine Show for March 2006; with Daniel Abraham under the joint pseudonym James S A Corey, he has written the Expanse sequence based on the game, beginning with Leviathan Wakes (2011); see Abraham for details. The third volume, Abaddon's Gate (2013), won the Locus Award as best sf novel, and the sequence has been adapted for Television as the SyFy series The Expanse (2015-2018), then from Amazon (2019-current). As a novel series, The Expanse won the Hugo for best series in 2020. [JC]
