Working name of UK schoolteacher, long-time Fanzine editor, author and artist Byron Terry Jeeves (1922-2011), whose privately published Bibliographies of Astounding were bylined B T Jeeves and began with A Checklist of Astounding: Part 1 – 1930 to 1939 (1963 chap) [see Checklist below]; these researches were incorporated into The Complete Index to Astounding/Analog (1981) with Mike Ashley. He edited three early issues of Vector (#2-#4, Autumn 1958-Spring 1959) for the British Science Fiction Association, of which he was a founder member. His own long-running, self-illustrated fanzine was Erg, with 166 issues from April 1959 to July 2005; duplicated UK quarto (10 x 8 in) to #97 (January 1987) and photocopied A5 thereafter; most early issues to #15 (March 1963) were distributed through OMPA; contents included discussion of sf (with a leaning towards the Astounding/Analog school), Fandom, memories of World War Two as "Wartime Daze", and science, especially Space Flight.
Jeeves published a few short stories beginning with "The Destroyer" in Fifty Extremely SF* Stories (anth 1982 chap) edited by Michael Bastraw and ending with "The Einstein Instant" (November 1996 Tomorrow: Speculative Fiction). He received the 2007 Rotsler Award for life achievement in fanzine art, and was inducted into the First Fandom Hall of Fame in 2010. [DRL]
