(1977- ) US author, son of Stephen King and brother of Joe Hill, most of whose work has been nonfantastic, and who began to publish work of genre interest with "The Meerkat" in Who Can Save Us Now? (anth 2008) edited by King and John McNally. He is of some sf interest for Sleeping Beauties (2017) with Stephen King, a sophisticated embedding of Zombie topoi – featuring virus that turns men into stunned dolts and women (when they are allowed to awaken from protective cocoons) into zombies – into a complex vision of Alternate Worlds interweaving through the same geography. One of these worlds is our own devastated planet; the other, entered by women when asleep, is a Feminist Utopia. The Curator (short version December Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet; 2023) is set in an Equipoisally multiplex Alternate World after a revolution has destabilized reality, releasing fantasy beings, including an avalanche of Cats, into the City where everything must be solved, or perhaps curated.
