(1965- ) US Videogame designer and author of the Society of Steam sequence, comprising The Falling Machine (2010), Hearts of Smoke & Steam (2011) and Power under Pressure (2013), set in a Steampunk version of late nineteenth-century New York, where Superheroes vie against Lord Eschaton who, as his name implies, plots to shape the future into a Satanic Mills Dystopia. The Robot known as Automaton which/who is destroyed in the first volume is reconstructed in the second, with the aid of a character whose Inventions may help stave off apocalypse, aided by a new group of rebels known as the Society of Steam. In the meantime, a new Power Source – Fortified Steam – has been discovered; its potential remains alarmingly undeveloped. [JC]
