McCormack, Una

(1972-    ) UK author who wrote initially for the Star Trek universe, including her first story, "Face Value" (in Prophecy and Change, anth 2003, ed Marco Palmieri), and a Star Trek: Deep Space Nine tale, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Never-Ending Sacrifice (2005). More recently, she has contributed to the Doctor Who universe, beginning with The King's Dragon (2010), in the Doctor Who: New Series sequence. The Baba Yaga (2015) with Eric Brown (whom see) is the third novel in the Weird Space sequence whose two previous episodes were by Brown alone, with Star of the Sea: Weird Space (2016) by McCormack alone continuing this vigorous Space Opera sequence.

Two of her Doctor Who Ties received BSFA Awards for fiction for younger readers, in successive years: Caged (2024) and The Robot Revolution (2025). [JC/DRL]
