Winnacker, Susanne

(?   -    ) US author whose first novel, The Other Life (2012), which begins the Weepers sequence, is a Near Future Young Adult Dystopian novel whose young romantically-involved protagonists, initially confined in an Underground Keep because of a deadly virus outdoors, eventually reach the surface, where they experience a Conceptual Breakthrough; in its sequel, The Life Beyond (2014 ebook), the dad of one of the protagonists must be saved from disease. The Impostor sequence comprising Impostor (2013) and Defector (2014) follows the adventures of its young protagonist, a Shapeshifter Mutant who uses her abilities to solve crimes. Between the Shadow and the Soul (2014) is a supernatural tale. [JC]
