(1957-    ) US author and editor who began to publish work of genre interest with "Grandfather's Toys" in Realms of Valor (anth 1993) edited by James Lowder, an anthology tied to the Forgotten Realms Shared World. Much of Rabe's work is tied to other fantasy and supernatural franchises such as Dragonlance and Rogue Angel [see Checklist below]; contributions to the latter sequence appear as by Alex Archer, its usual House Name. Her solo Finest trilogy opening with The Finest Creation (2004) is also fantasy. She collaborated with Andre Norton on three novels, beginning with Return to Quag Keep (2005), and has edited a number of anthologies, often in collaboration with the famously prolific Martin H Greenberg.

In 2020 Rabe received the Grandmaster Scribe Award for career achievement in media Ties. [DRL]
