Addison, Linda D

(1952-    ) US anthologist, poet and author, active from the 1990s, who began to publish prose works of genre interest with "Night of the Living Dead" in Outer Darkness Annual for Fall 1995, and poetry with "Animated Objects" in Tales of the Unanticipated for Fall/Winter 1995; frequent winner of the Bram Stoker Award (see Awards) for her horror fiction, and made SFPA Grand Master of Fantastic Poetry for 2020. From the beginning of her career, starting with Animated Objects (coll 1997), she has published much Poetry, much of it immersed in tropes of the fantastic, relatively little of it "straightforward" sf. Addison has been an active member of the Science Fiction Poetry Association for many years and was honoured as SFPA Grand Master (see Rhysling Award) in 2020. [JC]
