Alexander, David M
Entry updated 10 July 2023. Tagged: Author.
(1945- ) US lawyer and author who writes mysteries as David Grace, and whose first sf novel, The Chocolate Spy (1978), concerns the creation of an organic Computer using cloned braincells (see Clones). His second, Fane (1981), set on a planet whose electromagnetic configurations permit the controlled use of Magic, describes an inimical attempt to augment these powers; this is in part a homage to Jack Vance. Seven 1990s appearances in Analog include three collaborations with Hayford Peirce, the first being "Best of Breed" (mid-December 1994 Analog). David M Alexander is not to be confused with either David Alexander or the second David Alexander above. [JC]
