US record label run by Shelley and Roy Torgeson, based in New York, active from 1975 to 1977. It concentrated entirely on spoken word albums of readings of sf and fantasy, and in its brief existence released an impressive roster of recordings by Robert Bloch, Harlan Ellison, Ursula K Le Guin, Fritz Leiber, Joanna Russ and Theodore Sturgeon reading their own short fiction, plus Brian W Aldiss's Radio adaptation of his novel Frankenstein Unbound (1973), and an album of Robert E Howard stories read by actors. The cover art was also notable; artists who created, or whose work was used for, LP covers included George Barr, Leo and Diane Dillon, Ed Emshwiller, Jeffrey (Catherine) Jones and Gahan Wilson. The label won a World Fantasy Award in the special professional category in 1977. [CWa]
