(1970- ) US teacher and author, in UK from 2010; her main academic posts have been with Anglia Ruskin University, 2016-2022; she began to publish work of genre interest with "If Wishes Were Horses" in Strange Horizons for May 2009. Her first novel, Threading the Labyrinth (2020; exp as coll with one added story 2024), is an historical fantasy. Angus is primarily of sf interest for the continuing nonfiction Spec Fic for Newbies sequence with Val Nolan, beginning with Spec Fic for Newbies: A Beginner's Guide to Writing Subgenres of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror (2023), provides sparky conversational coverage of Fantastika as a whole, as per subtitle; jokes are told; exercises are suggested.
