(? - ) Canadian author, in Australia for some years, in Canada again from 2007; her first novel, the Young Adult Near Future Lockdown (2014), is set along the Canadian Pacific Rim near Vancouver Island after a 9.5 magnitude earthquake (equal in intensity to the 1960 event off Chile) has devastated the vulnerable western regions of North America. The young protagonist, whose injured father is in hospital, must protective their armoured home (see Survivalist Fiction). Bolitho's second novel, Outback Promise (2015), is nonfantastic. [JC]
