(1956- ) US software designer and author who began to publish work of genre interest with the four-volume Dance of the Gods sequence opening with Catastrophe's Spell (1989), an moderately entertaining Sword and Sorcery venture that is at least notionally set in a Post-Holocaust future [see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below]; interestingly, Magic spells must be laboriously constructed through Mathematics, and there are hints of underlying Nanotechnology. Brenner's Genre SF novel is Young Astronauts #5: Space Pioneers (1990) as by Rick North, the House Name for the Young Adult Young Astronauts space-adventure series set in the Near Future. [DRL]
