1. Carcosa House was a fan-run US specialist publishing house formed to produce the first book edition of Edison's Conquest of Mars (1947) by Garrett P Serviss. No further books appeared.
2. The name Carcosa (not Carcosa House) was used for a different Small Press founded in 1973 under the direction of David Drake and Karl Edward Wagner (1945-1994). Its first production was Worse Things Waiting (coll 1973) by Manly Wade Wellman, a finely printed, illustrated volume of stories, chiefly from Weird Tales. Similar collections followed from E Hoffman Price in 1975 and Hugh B Cave in 1977, plus a second volume of Wellman stories in 1981. No further books appeared. [MJE/DRL]
