(1981- ) Spanish filmmaker and author whose first title of interest, El desierto blanco (coll of linked stories 2023; trans Rosalind Harvey as The White Desert 2026) explores through the various genres in which its connected tales are told the End of the World as dreamed, digitally perceived, experienced by its two protagonists. There is a sense that the whole is told from further into a surreal Near Future where, however transformed, something recognizable as lived lives do survive. [JC]
