(? - ) US Comics writer, teacher and author whose first novel, Deluge and the Xerces Blue (2009), was issued in fulfilment of a thesis for the State University of New York at Binghamton, and may not be generally available; the tale focuses on Pollution issues. Her first published novel, Balance of Fragile Things (2012), adumbrates planetary Ecological collapse through its protagonist 's study of a dead butterfly found in the vicinity of a mysterious sink hole. The Young Adult Mechanists sequence beginning with Rise of the Red Hand (2021) unpacks in a South Asian country where the devastating consequences of Climate Change have opened the way to a Dystopian tyranny, with the wealthy sequestered in the Uplands, where they enjoy good sanitation and gene therapy, while the population at large lives in threatened slums. The weaponized Cyborg protagonist attempts to cope with a decaying world. A Pandemic is unleashed. [JC]
