(1952- ) US author who began writing work of genre interest with "Encounter on the Ladder" in Universe 15 (anth 1986) edited by Terry Carr, and who, after a gap, turned to longer forms after publishing five further stories. Branch Point (1995) is an Alternate History for the Young Adult market, in which a group of young protagonists use Time Travel to keep the Bay of Pigs incident in 1962 from turning into a Holocaust; Overshoot (1998) less hopefully describes a Near Future beset by global warming (see Climate Change) and unfettered Genetic Engineering.
