(1921-1999) Canadian artist who, after serving in World War Two, graduated in architecture from the University of British Columbia and then lived in the UK for some years. While there he did ten covers for New Worlds and several for Nebula Science Fiction, plus copious interior work for both of these magazines and for Science Fantasy; his Illustration career spanned approximately the period 1949-1954, although he remained a keen amateur painter and sculptor for the rest of his life, which was spent back in Canada. There he became a stage actor before being cast for a prominent role in Canada's longest-running Television drama, The Beachcombers (1972-1990). He also appeared in, among much else, two episodes apiece of The Ray Bradbury Theater and The X-Files – "Red Museum" in 1994 and "Piper Maru" in 1996 – plus one of The Outer Limits: "I, Robot" (1995).
