Daily Science Fiction

Entry updated 10 October 2018. Tagged: Publication.

A US-based professional E-Zine emailed to subscribers each morning, Monday to Friday. It is run by Jonathan Laden and Michele-Lee Barosso and began on 1 September 2010 with "An Adventure in the Antiquities Trade" by Jeff Hecht. The daily schedule results in 260 or so stories per year, more than any other regular sf magazine. The stories run the whole gamut of sf, fantasy, Slipstream and Magic Realism and the website dutifully categorizes all stories. An interesting sequence was the "Alphabet Quartet", 26 stories by Tim Pratt, Jenn Reese, Heather Shaw and Greg van Eekhout, published one a week between 5 January and 29 June 2011. Other regular contributors have included David D Levine, Melissa Mead, Eric James Stone and Lavie Tidhar whose appearances included his fabulist novella "Henry, Caesar of the Air, His Life and Times, or, The Book of Qat", serialized from 23-27 July 2012. Each story may be short or long, flippant or serious, and is designed to start your day with a smile or a ponder. [MA]
