Dardis, Thomas A

(1926-2001) US teacher, author and editor of two reprint anthologies. Daughters of Eve (anth 1956) edited as T A Dardis and billed on the cover as "Ten shocking stories about ten overpowering females", includes a few genre tales. Beyond (anth 1963), edited anonymously in-house for Berkley, assembles nine stories from Beyond Fantasy Fiction: contributors include Jerome Bixby, Ray Bradbury, Fredric Brown, Algis Budrys, James E Gunn, Frederik Pohl and Theodore Sturgeon.

Dardis's nonfiction study Some Time in the Sun: The Hollywood Years of Fitzgerald, Faulkner, Nathanael West, Aldous Huxley and James Agee as Tom Dardis (1976) is relevant to two authors with entries in this encyclopedia, Aldous Huxley and Nathanael West. [DRL]
