Working name of US author Roger Dee Aycock (1914-2004) for his fiction, which began with "The Wheel is Death" for Planet Stories, Fall 1949. He was a prolific contributor to the sf magazines in the early 1950s, becoming inactive after 1971. His sf novel, An Earth Gone Mad (November 1952 Startling; exp 1954 dos), is a Dystopia depicting, in terms of fairly routine adventure, a populace under totalitarian mind control. [JC]
