(1962-    ) US actor, screenwriter/producer, and author, all of whose written work [see Checklist] has been Tied to his own film productions. After writing the script for Universal Soldier (1992), he began a successful collaboration with its director, Roland Emmerich, co-writing and coproducing Stargate (1994), Independence Day (1996) and Godzilla (1998), all these films being directed by Emmerich.
