(1993- ) US Videogame writer, cinematographer, screenwriter and author who began publishing work of genre interest with "Threshold" in Spectrum 27: The Best in Contemporary Fantastic Art (anth 2020) edited by Katherine Chu and John Fleskes. The Divide sequence of Military SF tales beginning with The Last Watch (2021) features a Dirty Dozen team of tough miscreant soldiers whose exploits along the intergalactic line of conflict along a threatening fault known as the Divide may stave off disaster [for Dirty Dozen see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below]. Rubicon (2023), a singleton, unpacks a Forever War scenario [for The Forever War (1974) see Joe Haldeman] – in this case interminably repeated resurrections of soldier minds into new "husks" – through the adventures and exploits of a tough female soldier married to an experimental AI whose control of her hardware is startlingly innovative. So linked, it is fairly clear (even to her) that she will find herself infiltrating the enigmatic Berserker-like enemy threatening Homo sapiens by becoming, or seeming to become, part of them. [JC]
