Working name of Reginald Charles Dolphin (1915-1990), UK accountant and author who began to publish work of genre interest with "Off the Map" in Weird Tales for July 1954. His two known fiction books appeared only under House Names. The World-Shakers! (1960 chap) as by Desmond Reid is a UFO story contributed to the Sexton Blake Library; The Vampires of Finistere (1970) as by Peter Saxon is a Vampire fantasy written for the Guardians sequence about psychic investigators [for Occult Detectives see The Encyclopedia of Fantasy under links below]. It has been reported that Dolphin also used a female pseudonym for at least one book-length work, genre unknown. [DRL]
