(1937-2006) US author, editor, bibliographer and fan, active in Fandom from 1949 in various capacities. He is perhaps best remembered for the substantial fannish reference work Fancyclopedia II (1959), based on and greatly expanded from Jack Speer's original Fancyclopedia (1944) and soon followed by Additions and Corrections: Fancyclopedia II (1960 chap). A third incarnation is now available online in wiki format [see under links below] and is frequently updated. (See also Fancyclopedia.) Eney's other publications, in addition to a great many Fanzines, include The SAPS Index (1959 chap), cataloguing the contents of the Spectator Amateur Press Society (see APA) mailings from October 1950 to December 1955, and The Proceedings: Discon (anth 1965), a full-length book devoted to the 1963 Worldcon held in Washington, District of Columbia. [DRL]
further awards or honours: Worldcon.
