(1937- ) US editor and author who with Donald A Wollheim co-edited two Anthologies of stories selected from Avon Fantasy Reader. These were The Avon Fantasy Reader (anth 1969) and The 2nd Avon Fantasy Reader (anth 1969). The contents included several "classic" reprints, the oldest (in the first volume) being Algernon Blackwood's John Silence tale "A Victim of Higher Space" (December 1914 The Occult Review) (see Dimensions). Ernsberger's novel The Mountain King (1978) is Horror. [DRL]
