(1977-    ) UK comics writer and fiction author whose first works of genre interest were stories for the "Future Shocks" department of 2000 AD, followed by work on the Judge Dredd strip. He has since written for a number of Marvel Comics titles, including the award-winning multi-Superhero crossover Empyre (main arc July-September 2020, plus various prelude, tie-in and aftermath issues).

Ewing began to publish novel-length fiction in the Pax Britannia Alternate-History Steampunk setting created by Jonathan Green (whom see). In Pax Britannia: El Sombra (2007) the titular swordsman defends his small Mexican town against the steam-powered might of the Nazis' Ultimate Reich; a further novel and a story collection followed [see Checklist below]. Further Shared World contributions are Tomes of the Dead: I, Zombie (2008) in the Tomes of the Dead Zombie sequence; and The Afterblight Chronicles: Death Got No Mercy (2009) in the Afterblight Chronicles Post-Holocaust Young Adult setting.

The author's first standalone novel is The Fictional Man (2013), set in a Near Future Los Angeles (see California) film scene transformed by the use of Clones, with actors being grown and shaped as perfect performers of their roles: in effect, fictional characters inhabiting real cloned bodies, a theme developed with considerable gonzo energy.
