(1930-2009) UK poet, editor and small-press publisher who co-founded the Arvon Foundation, which still organizes many UK writers' courses and workshops. His principal contribution to sf is as editor of one of the pioneering genre Poetry anthologies of the late 1960s: Frontier of Going: An Anthology of Space Poetry (anth 1969), celebrating Space Flight in particular. Contributors include Robert Conquest, Ronald Duncan, James Kirkup, Edward Lucie-Smith, James Kirkup, John Moat (1936-2014), Peter Redgrove and D M Thomas; Fairfax inserted several of his own poems and is also represented in Lucie-Smith's seminal Holding Your Eight Hands (anth 1969).
