Futurian War Digest
Entry updated 18 June 2021. Tagged: Fan, Publication.
UK Fanzine (1940-1945), edited from Leeds by J Michael Rosenblum; 39 issues, mimeographed UK quarto, 4pp-20pp, dated from October 1940 to March 1945.
This, though continuing from Rosenblum's The Futurian and its first wartime replacement The Pseudo-Futurian! (four issues June-September 1940), was a separately numbered Newszine of some importance as a central contact point and clearing house for UK Fandom during World War Two. Various other fanzines, and even letters between fans (a service which Rosenblum termed "Fandom's GPO"), were mailed along with Futurian War Digest: these included the first British Fantasy Society's British Fantasy Society Bulletin. The newszine was also known affectionately as "Fido" and the accompanying fanzines as "Fido's Litter". All issues of Futurian War Digest have been archived online by Rob Hansen. [DRL]
