(? - ) Canadian author whose first book, What We See in the Smoke (coll of linked stories 2019), assembles a pliant array of tales, several set in the Near Future, others set further afield, all related by place or association with the author's native Toronto. The City is seen realistically, and as a kind of reality magnet in world whose future is chaos; the book as a whole can be read as an exercise in regional Future History. Visitation Seeds (2020 chap) is fantasy. The Years Shall Run Like Rabbits (2024) very significantly elaborates the emblematization of Toronto from What We See in the Smoke, Equipoisally integrating topoi from that earlier volume into a mosaical presentation out of the toolkit of Fantastika widely conceived: the future depicted has some of the procreative jumble of myth.
