(1949- ) US editor and publisher who for many years has shared the roles of editor-in-chief and publisher of DAW Books with Betsy Wollheim (whom see). For her work at DAW she has also shared Chesley Awards for best art director with Wollheim in 1990 and 1992, and received a solo 2016 Hugo award as best professional editor (long form). Her only published fiction is "The General's Bane" with Mike Gilbert in Civil War Fantastic (anth 2000) edited by Martin H Greenberg. Gilbert co-edited the DAW anniversary volumes Fantasy: DAW 30th Anniversary (anth 2002) and Science Fiction: DAW 30th Anniversary (anth 2002), both with Betsy Wollheim as Elizabeth R Wollheim. In 2018 she won the Hugo as best editor (long form). [DRL]
